Over time, we've built up our own robust processes to handle waste binders. How do we achieve this?
- The items are sorted, based on the specific materials used in their construction.
- We first remove any metal rings and lever arch mechanisms, cleaning and re-using those in perfect condition.
- All other metal components are removed. Scrap metal is sent to be melted down and reprocessed.
- Plastics and paper are separated where possible. Each different type of plastic is kept separate to avoid contamination.
|
- PVC and polypropylene are returned to be processed into other products such as pipes and guttering.
- Paper and board - there is an established market for this material.
- When it is not possible to further separate the components the residue will be compacted and disposed of in the most environmentally sound manner, according to current Government advice.
We have filed a patent application covering our automation of the separation process.
